The Oakland Athletics will kick off their home stand with a game against the Chicago White Sox at 9:40 PM Eastern Time. The teams have split their last four games, each securing two wins.

With an ERA of 4.11, Jonathan Cannon will pitch for the White Sox, and JP Sears, with an ERA of 4.53, will start for the Athletics. The Athletics are the favorites to win with a moneyline of -170.

It will be interesting to see how this matchup plays out.

Chicago White Sox

The Chicago White Sox fell to the Minnesota Twins despite scoring seven runs, resulting in a sweep.

Andrew Benintendi hit their lone home run, and Chris Flexen struggled on the mound, allowing six runs in just 1.2 innings.

RHP Jonathan Cannon is set to start the next game with a 1-5 record and a 4.11 ERA. While struggling on the road, Cannon has been more successful under the lights.

Chicago’s offense has been weak, averaging 3.09 runs per game and holding a league-worst .217 batting average.

They have struggled to obtain hits consistently and rank poorly in walks received and strikeouts per game.

With a power ranking of 30, Chicago is ranked low in both offense and defense, with a record of 27-87 this season.

Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics struggled to recover after being shut out in game two. Despite collecting six hits, they could only score two runs. Miguel Andujar had multiple hits, and Brent Rooker added a home run and two RBIs.

Osvaldo Bido started the game and allowed two runs over six innings. The Athletics’ pitching staff is currently ranked 24th in overall ERA.

They have performed better at home and under the lights, but their August ERA has climbed above 7.00. Oakland’s offense averages 4.11 runs per game, ranking them 25th in the league.

They have struggled with a batting average this season but have been hitting better at home. The Athletics have a strong home run rate but are also striking out at a high rate.

Their performance in August has been above their season average, but they may struggle if they cannot convert walks into strikeouts.

Oakland has a power ranking of 2 and an overall record of 46-67. In their last three matchups, Chicago won one out of three games against Oakland.

White Sox-A’s Best Bet

The Oakland Athletics are currently highly favored, which is unusual in their world. This is because of their recent strong offensive performance, especially their high rate of hitting home runs.

On the other hand, the Chicago White Sox have been struggling at the plate, and their pitching staff ranks poorly when facing hitters with runners in scoring position.

As a result, the Athletics will likely win this game. Therefore, placing a bet on the Oakland A’s might be a good idea. Take the A’s on the moneyline in this one.
