The Las Vegas Aces aim to extend their scorching performance in the Nevada desert as they host the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night.

Vegas is on a four-game winning streak and has won 10 of its last 11 games overall, leading to a heavily favored prediction for the Aces in tonight’s WNBA odds.

Let’s go ahead and explore why the explosive Las Vegas offense might face challenges tonight.

Chicago Sky

Chicago’s offense has struggled, ranking second-worst in efficiency (92.4) over the last four games.

The Sky scored just 67 points in their 81-67 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday, marking their fourth consecutive game with fewer than 80 points.

Reese’s impressive double-double streak, which had reached 15 games, ended as she scored only eight points on 3-for-13 shooting.

Wilson, a two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, is poised to challenge Reese in the paint and disrupt driving lanes for Chennedy Carter.

Carter has quietly averaged 19.9 points per game over the last month. Carter scored 20 points in the Sky’s 95-83 loss to the Aces in late June.

However, I don’t expect Carter or the Sky to replicate those offensive numbers against a Las Vegas team that has elevated its defensive play.

If Chicago’s defense performs as it has since that loss, this game should fall short of the projected total.

Las Vegas Aces

Tonight, the Aces will face the Chicago Sky, a team known for a less high-scoring style of play.

The Las Vegas Aces are arguably the most potent offensive team in the WNBA this season, continuing their dominance from the last two title runs.

Las Vegas leads the league in scoring with an average of 88.9 points per game, ranks first in true shooting percentage at 57.1%, and holds the second spot in offensive rating at 107.4.

Their fast-paced play style also contributes to their impressive offensive statistics. Defensively, the Aces have struggled, allowing 82.6 points per game on the season.

However, during their recent 10-1 streak, that number has dropped to 79.3 points per game, which would be even lower if not for an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Sparks earlier this month, where they conceded 98 points.

Sky-Aces Best Bet

The Aces have hit the Under in their last three games and have done so in six of their last ten.

WNBA MVP candidate A’ja Wilson and her teammates continue to shine offensively, scoring at least 84 points in each of their last ten games while holding opponents under 80 points in seven of those contests.

I’d bet Under 173.5 points in this one at -110 odds. While I believe the Aces will win, I’m uncertain if they cover the spread so I’d target the total instead.
