A’ja Wilson Named Western Conference Player Of The Week

Aces forward A’ja Wilson was awarded the Western Conference Player of the Week for June 17-23 after helping lead the Aces to a 2-0 record that week. Wilson had 27 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks on the 19th in a 94-83 victory against the Seattle Storm. Two days later, she led the Aces to an 85-74 victory against the 13-1 Connecticut Sun, finishing with 26 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

A’ja Wilson now has 18 career Player of the Week awards, tying her with Lauren Jackson for seventh place. Wilson leads the league in scoring (27.8 ppg) and rebounding (11.6 rpg), while finishing second in blocks (2.4 bpg), sixth in steals (1.9 spg), and eighth in field goal percentage (.524). She also has the longest current streak of scoring 20 or more points, having done it 19 times in a row and hopes to extend it to 20 on Thursday.
