Las Vegas Raiders Land Defensive Tackle Christian Wilkins

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips (15) and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (94) sack Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (4) during the second half of an NFL game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Nov. 19, 2023.

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a significant move by agreeing to a four-year $110 million deal with defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, which includes 87.75 million guarantees.

Wilkins spent the last five years with the Dolphins after being drafted 13th overall in 2019. However, he could not agree to a new deal in Miami, and the team passed on tagging him earlier this month. He had a career-high nine sacks last season and has appeared in every game in the previous three seasons.

Wilkins’s career-high in sacks was nine last season with the Dolphins. He also had 65 tackles, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.

Bilal Nichols and John Jenkins, the Raiders’ two starting defensive tackles from last season, and top backup Adam Butler are all free agents.

Las Vegas, which ranked ninth in points allowed last season, will now feature two dominant forces on its defensive line: Wilkins and pass rusher Maxx Crosby, who had a career-best 14.5 sacks last season and led the NFL in tackles for loss with 23.

The Raiders haven’t had a dominant defensive tackle in a long time, and Wilkins’s addition should fix that for the next few years.
