CBS Sports released their latest mock draft and has the Las Vegas Raiders taking J.J McCarthy with the 13th pick of the NFL Draft. J.J. McCarthy helped lead the Michigan Wolverines to a national championship this past year when he passed for 2,991 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
He didn’t put up godly numbers like the other college quarterbacks, but Michigan was run first team. But McCarthy did a good job not turning the ball over and making plays when needed.
McCarthy is athletic and has good arm strength. In today’s NFL, you need a quarterback who can use his legs to make plays and get the ball down the field; McCarthy has the skill set to do just that.
Over this past weekend, NFL Network reported that Las Vegas would aggressively look for a franchise quarterback this season.
If the Raiders can not move up, McCarthy could be a viable option at pick 13.
