What began as social media drama between former Miami Heat teammates reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation Friday in Las Vegas. According to multiple reports, Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo allegedly punched former teammate Tyler Herro following comments Herro made on social media after his offseason trade to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The reported altercation took place at a hotel practice court during NBA Summer League activities in Las Vegas. According to reports, Adebayo confronted Herro over comments and posts criticizing him after Herro’s departure from Miami. The confrontation allegedly turned physical, with Adebayo striking Herro in the face.
Neither the Miami Heat nor the Milwaukee Bucks immediately commented on the incident.
What Sparked the Dispute?
The tension appears to have been building for days. Following his trade to Milwaukee, Herro shared social media content highlighting poor mid-range shooting statistics that included Adebayo and reportedly criticized Adebayo’s $60 million contract in leaked private messages.
Herro also notably omitted Adebayo when thanking members of the Heat organization after the blockbuster trade that sent him to the Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Seven Seasons Together End on a Sour Note
Adebayo and Herro spent seven seasons together in Miami, helping lead the Heat through multiple playoff runs and establishing themselves as one of the franchise’s young cornerstones. That relationship now appears to have unraveled following Herro’s departure.
The alleged confrontation underscores the emotional fallout from one of the NBA’s biggest offseason trades and suggests that tensions between the former teammates remained unresolved after the deal.
