Although Las Vegas is not hosting any matches for the Cup known around the world, international soccer fans continue to include the city in their U.S. travel plans.
At Circa Resort & Casino, the World Cup tournament has transformed a typically quiet period into a vibrant sports environment. Fans from Europe and other regions have filled sportsbooks, casinos, and Stadium Swim to watch matches on large screens, even when games take place elsewhere.
Derek Stevens reported sellouts for Mexico and U.S. matches at the sportsbook and Stadium Swim, along with strong attendance for Brazil, England, Argentina, and Spain games inspired by the excitement of the World Cup.
The tournament has also increased interest in American culture. German soccer fan Freddy, formerly known on X as @FreddyLA7, went viral during his cross-country trip for his enthusiastic posts about Waffle House, Walmart, Taco Bell, Buc-ee’s, and American hospitality, proving the far-reaching cultural impact of the World Cup.
Stevens noticed the online attention and offered to fly Freddy and his friends to Las Vegas on Circa’s private jet as a way to celebrate the global unifying power of World Cup fandom.
Some international visitors share this sentiment. Kim Markwat, visiting from the Netherlands, said Las Vegas was an easy choice, even though it is not hosting games for the World Cup. Markwat noted that the scale of Las Vegas is impressive.
