Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel successfully transitioned from the football field to the cage Saturday night, scoring a first-round stoppage victory over internet personality Bob Menery during an amateur MMA event at the UFC Apex.

The former Heisman Trophy winner overwhelmed Menery early and forced the referee to stop the fight just 2:16 into Round 1.

Manziel, 33, showcased aggression from the opening bell, quickly landing several clean strikes that visibly rattled Menery. At one point during the exchange, Menery even lost his mouthpiece as Manziel continued pouring on punches before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

The former Texas A&M Aggies superstar entered the cage with a significant physical advantage:

  • Manziel reportedly stood 6-foot and weighed around 205 pounds
  • Menery reportedly came in around 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds

The difference became apparent quickly once the action started.

Who Is Bob Menery?

Menery has built a large online following as a sports personality and comedian. Known for his exaggerated broadcaster voice and viral content, Menery has:

  • Over 2.8 million Instagram followers
  • Hosted sports and comedy podcasts
  • Worked with major sports brands
  • Served as a celebrity caddie for Aaron Rodgers

He also became widely known online after calling games for the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles indoor football team.

However, his transition into MMA competition proved much less successful.

“Probably My Last Fight”

Following the victory, Manziel suggested his MMA career may already be over. Speaking afterward with streamer Adin Ross, Manziel joked that:

  • This was likely his first and last MMA fight
  • He immediately wanted a cigarette after competing

Still, the former football star looked surprisingly comfortable during his brief cage appearance.
