HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders continue to finalize their draft class. The team announced Thursday that it has signed fourth-round pick Mike Washington Jr., selected No. 122 overall, adding size and versatility to the backfield.
Washington Jr., listed at 6-foot-2, 228 pounds, brings a powerful running style and consistent production from his college career. Across stops at Arkansas, New Mexico State, and Buffalo, he compiled:
- 587 carries
- 2,914 rushing yards
- 26 rushing touchdowns
- 73 receptions for 470 yards and 3 TDs
His ability to contribute both on the ground and through the air gives the Raiders another multidimensional option.
Breakout Season at Arkansas
Washington’s most impressive campaign came in 2025 at University of Arkansas, where he earned All-SEC Second Team honors.
Starting all 12 games, he totaled:
- 1,070 rushing yards on 167 carries
- 8 rushing touchdowns
- 6.4 yards per carry (2nd in SEC, top 10 nationally)
- 28 receptions for 226 yards and 1 TD
His efficiency and big-play ability helped elevate his draft stock heading into the NFL.
Journey to the League
Washington’s path wasn’t traditional.
He spent:
- Three seasons at University at Buffalo (2021–23)
- One season at New Mexico State University (2024)
- Final season at Arkansas (2025)
That journey showcased adaptability and steady development traits the Raiders are betting on at the next level.
What This Means for the Raiders
The addition of Washington Jr. gives Las Vegas:
- A big-bodied, downhill runner
- A reliable pass-catching option out of the backfield
- Added depth and competition in the RB room
With training camp approaching, Washington will have an opportunity to carve out a role early, particularly in short-yardage and rotational situations.
