One of combat sports’ most intriguing prospects has found a new stage. Gable Steveson, the Olympic gold medalist and undefeated MMA prospect, has officially signed a multi-fight deal with Real American Freestyle (RAF), marking a major addition for the upstart wrestling promotion.

Steveson is set to make his debut at RAF09 on May 30 in Dallas, with his opponent still to be announced. RAF CEO Chad Bronstein didn’t hold back when discussing the signing.

“Gable is a generational athlete and one of the biggest stars our sport has ever produced,” Bronstein said. “Gable choosing RAF is proof that we’re doing exactly that.”

For a promotion still building its identity, this is a defining moment. By signing the best prospect in the open market.

A Combat Sports Phenom in the Making

At just 25 years old, Steveson already boasts a resume that spans multiple disciplines:

  • Olympic gold medalist (Tokyo 2020)
  • Two-time NCAA national champion (University of Minnesota)
  • 3-0 in MMA — all first-round knockouts
  • 15-second knockout in Dirty Boxing Championship

His athleticism and explosiveness have made him one of the most talked-about crossover athletes in years.

MMA Still the Ultimate Destination

Despite signing with RAF, Steveson’s long-term future appears to remain in MMA. There is growing expectation across the industry that he will eventually land in the UFC potentially sooner rather than later.

Joe Rogan has already gone on record predicting big things. Rogan believes Steveson could become a future UFC heavyweight champion. That’s high praise but it reflects how highly regarded Steveson is as a prospect.
