After a historic season, Chelsea Gray earned the game’s top individual honor: MVP. She shattered records and delivered jaw-dropping performances, making her the clear choice long before voting began.

Gray also led Rose to the No. 4 seed, finishing the regular season 6-8 and setting up a dangerous underdog run. However, Rose’s postseason ended in the first round with a 69-50 loss to the Breeze.

Gray conquered plenty this season. She became the first player to reach not only 400 career points but 600. She averaged 24.2 points, and she scored 30 or more in five games. Her best performance came Feb. 22 against the Laces, when she poured in 38 points while shooting 56.5 percent from the field.

Scoring was not her only strength. She honored her “Point Gawd” nickname all season, and she led the league in assists with 72, ahead of Paige Bueckers (69) and Kelsey Plum (60). She averaged 6.1 assists per game, which made her even more dangerous on the offensive end.

Then came Unrivaled’s 1-on-1 tournament, where Gray ran through the field and reached the championship against Allisha Gray. Gray won the best-of-3 series, and she sealed the final game by drilling the game-winning 3 to take the trophy home. Afterward, she joked there is “just something bout that last name,” leaning into the moment and the matchup.

After a season like this, fans from the Aces to Unrivaled are eager to see how her dominance carries into the WNBA season.
