Raiders’ Injury Report Takes a Sharp Turn as Maxx Crosby Pops Up Hurt Ahead of Browns Matchup

Just 24 hours after releasing one of their cleanest injury reports of the season, the Las Vegas Raiders saw their luck evaporate. On Wednesday, the Raiders listed just one player on the injury report a rarity in a season defined by attrition. By Thursday, that list had ballooned, and several new additions represented serious concerns for a roster already stretched thin. With Las Vegas sitting at 2–8, the margin for error and the margin for injuries is gone.

Maxx Crosby Appears With a Knee Injury

The biggest shock came from the name no one expected to see: Maxx Crosby. Crosby, who was a full participant Wednesday, appeared on Thursday’s report with a knee injury and was limited in practice. At this stage of the season, it’s wise for the Raiders to be cautious with their defensive superstar, but any appearance on the injury report immediately raises alarms.

Crosby has been the heartbeat of the Raiders for years the emotional tone-setter, the relentless motor, the player who never takes a snap off. If there’s anyone in football who knows when to dial back practice intensity for the long-term benefit, it’s him.

Still, the timing is concerning. With Cleveland’s rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders set to make his first NFL start on Sunday, Crosby’s presence was shaping up to be the Raiders’ single biggest advantage. If he’s limited or unavailable, it dramatically shifts the defensive landscape.

More Troubles in the Trenches

The Raiders’ battered defensive line took more hits Thursday as well.

  • DT Jonah Laulu (ribs) – Limited for the second straight day

  • DT Leki Fotu (heel) – Limited

  • G Dylan Parham (Achilles) – Full participant

While Parham practicing fully is a relief, the Raiders can’t feel any sense of comfort. Parham is the best and healthiest offensive lineman they have left. Losing him would be catastrophic for a unit already struggling to survive week to week.

The Browns boast one of the NFL’s most violent and explosive defensive fronts. A makeshift Raiders line facing Myles Garrett, Malik McDowell, and Cleveland’s deep rotation of disruptive interior rushers is daunting enough. Doing so while undermanned is a recipe for disaster.

Crosby Sounds the Alarm on the Browns’ Defensive Line

Even Crosby himself made it clear Thursday: Cleveland’s D-line is no joke.

“They are great. Myles, obviously, is Myles. He is one of one,” Crosby said. “Malik… is arguably one of the best interior rushers in the league. He has a bag, to say the least. Mason Graham, Alex Wright… they’ve got a lot of dudes that can play over there for sure.”

Coming from Crosby widely regarded as one of the top two or three edge defenders in the league that’s high praise. And it underscores why the Raiders’ sudden injury pileup is so dangerous.

Can the Raiders Hold It Together?

Las Vegas enters Week 12 already limping, carrying a season’s worth of injuries to key contributors like Kolton Miller and Jackson Powers-Johnson. Thursday’s additions didn’t create a new problem they magnified the one that’s already been dragging the team down for weeks.

If Maxx Crosby can’t go Sunday or even if he’s limited the Raiders’ best shot at rattling Shedeur Sanders evaporates. And if the Browns’ defensive line overwhelms Las Vegas’ patchwork front, the offense may struggle to move the ball at all.

One day changed everything. Whether the Raiders can weather it may determine whether this season continues unraveling or whether they can finally show fight against a Browns team that smells blood.
