- What: 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 6
- When: June 17, 2025
- Who: Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers
- Time: 5:00 p.m. PST
- Where: Amerant Bank Arena (Sunrise, FL)
The Edmonton Oilers will face the Florida Panthers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, with puck drop at 5 p.m. PST. The Panthers lead the series 3-2.
In Game 5, the Oilers struggled early, falling behind 2-0 and ultimately losing 5-2.
Connor McDavid scored his first goal of the series, but the team went 0-for-3 on the power play and managed only 21 shots, their lowest of the series. While McDavid has one fewer point than Leon Draisaitl, he’s faced criticism for his impact thus far.
Brad Marchand had two goals in Game 5, increasing his series total to six, and has ten goals in the playoffs. Sam Bennett remains a favorite for the Conn Smythe Trophy, but Marchand’s performance is making things competitive.
In net, Calvin Pickard struggled in Game 5, stopping 14 of 18 shots with a .878 save percentage in the series.
Meanwhile, Sergei Bobrovsky made 19 saves on 21 shots, maintaining an impressive 2.26 goals against average (GAA) and 11.1 goals saved above expected.
With pressure mounting, there is an expectation for McDavid to step up and help force a Game 7 while the Panthers remain confident. I am backing the underdog Oilers in this one. Everything about this series has felt like it will go the distance.
