The Indiana Pacers are set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of their best-of-7 NBA Finals series on Monday. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PST at Paycom Center and will be broadcast on ABC. The series is currently tied at 2-2.
The Pacers lost their hold on the series in Game 4, suffering a 111-104 defeat in Indianapolis, where they were outscored 31-17 in the final quarter despite leading 87-80 heading into the last frame.
Pascal Siakam recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals. In comparison, Tyrese Haliburton contributed 18 points and seven assists but struggled with his shooting, hitting only 1 of 7 from beyond the arc.
On the other hand, the Thunder managed to overcome a dismal 3-for-16 performance from three-point range (19%) by converting 34 of 38 free throw attempts.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander bounced back with a stellar 35-point performance, going 10-for-10 at the free-throw line, while Chet Holmgren had a strong presence on the boards, posting 14 points and 15 rebounds.
As stated before, I’m taking the Pacers to cover the +9.5 point spread in this matchup.
They realize they may have missed a golden opportunity for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and I expect them to give it their all in this game.
