- What: NBA Western Conference Playoffs Semifinals Game 5
- When: May 14, 2025
- Who: Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
- Time: 6:30 p.m. PST
- Where: Target Center (Minneapolis, MN)
The Minnesota Timberwolves will play the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series in the Western Conference semifinals of the NBA Playoffs on Wednesday.
The game will begin at 6:30 p.m. PST at Target Center in Minneapolis.
Currently, the Timberwolves lead the series 3-1. After losing three consecutive games, the Warriors face challenges, including a 117-110 defeat to Minnesota on Monday, where they failed to cover the spread as a 4.5-point home underdog.
With Stephen Curry sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Jonathan Kuminga stepped up, leading the team with 23 points. However, the Warriors struggled with their shooting, making only 29.6% (8-for-27) of their three-point attempts, putting them on the verge of elimination.
On the other hand, Minnesota has been on a roll, winning six of its last seven games. Julius Randle contributed a game-high 31 points, and Anthony Edwards added 30.
The Warriors have not fared well recently, going 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games, including a disappointing 2-5 as underdogs and 2-3 on the road.
Curry’s absence has disrupted their rhythm, particularly from long range. This allowed the Warriors to stay close in both games played in San Francisco, winning by narrow margins.
They exhibited similar struggles against the Lakers in the first round. Despite having the opportunity to close out the series, there are concerns about their ability to do so decisively.
While the Timberwolves may win this one, I don’t think they cover the double-digit spread.
Best Bet: Warriors +10.5 points at -110 odds
