Golden State’s two-game winning streak ended with a 117-93 loss in Game 2, where they failed to cover as 9.5-point underdogs.
With Stephen Curry out, Jimmy Butler led with 17 points, while the team struggled with a 28.1% shooting rate from three. Minnesota rebounded with a win, covering the spread as the home favorite.
Julius Randle led the Timberwolves with 24 points, nearly achieving a triple-double with 11 assists and 7 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 20 points.
The Warriors had a poor 97.9 offensive rating in their first game without Steph Curry against the Timberwolves. While not as dire as the Rockets, it’s still concerning.
However, there’s a belief that role players perform better at home, which gives Golden State some hope for a win. Securing just one more victory would ensure a Game 6 at home, possibly with Curry returning.

If the Warriors aim to win through defense, tonight’s Game 3 is their best chance, even with a notable talent gap. They’ve been trying various lineup changes, with Jonathan Kuminga seeing a drastic increase in minutes.
I see this game as a toss-up for Golden State, so I’ll take them to pull off the upset. This is their best chance to steal another game before Curry potentially returns.
