The Florida Panthers will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday.
The puck will drop at Scotiabank Arena at 5 p.m. PST. During the regular season, the Panthers won three out of four games against the Maple Leafs.
After defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round 1 in just five games, Florida showcased a strong offense, outscoring Tampa 19-12.
The Maple Leafs started their Round 1 series against the Ottawa Senators with a 3-0 lead but needed a Game 6 win to advance after facing elimination.
This is only the second time Toronto has reached the second round since 2004. In their past encounters, the Panthers proved challenging for the Maple Leafs.
Their previous playoff series in 2023 ended in a 4-1 victory for Florida. The last four games were closely contested, with two going into overtime.
For the Maple Leafs, William Nylander led with nine points in Round 1, while Mitch Marner provided seven assists. Sam Reinhart was the standout for the Panthers with six points, and Aleksander Barkov contributed significantly in faceoffs.
In goal, Sergei Bobrovsky has a strong postseason record for the Panthers, while Anthony Stolarz was impressed in his first playoff start with the Maple Leafs.
