- What: NHL Western Conference Playoffs First Round Game 7
- When: May 4, 2025
- Who: St. Louis Blues vs. Winnipeg Jets
- Time: 4:00 p.m. PST
- Where: Canada Life Centre (Winnipeg, MB)
The St. Louis Blues will play the Winnipeg Jets in Game 7 of their best-of-seven playoff series on Sunday at 4 p.m. PST at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg.
The series is tied 3-3, with each team winning at home.
After a rough Game 5, the Blues rebounded with a 5-2 victory in Game 6, chasing Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck after 5 goals beat him on 23 shots in 2 periods.
Although the Jets won 59% of faceoffs and outshot the Blues 27-23, the Blues showcased toughness and strong contributions from their fourth line, dubbed the “WTF” line, which scored five points in Game 6.
While the Jets missed center Mark Scheifele, they welcomed back right winger Nikolaj Ehlers.
However, Scheifele’s absence was felt, particularly at even strength. The focus remains on Hellebuyck, who has struggled this series, surrendering 18 goals at 5-on-5 and ranking last among goalies in that category.
Scheifele is a game-time decision, which adds to the anticipation. The Blues have faced numerous challenges but appear to thrive under pressure.
The Blues feel like the better team right now. They finished strong down the stretch and have everything falling into place for them. The Jets seem a bit unlucky with the timing of their injuries.
I see them delivering a strong performance to secure a spot against Dallas in the next round. I’m taking the Blues to pull off the upset over the Jets in this one.
