The No. 1 seed Houston Cougars (34-4) will face the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils (35-3) on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament Final Four.
Houston comes into this match boasting an impressive streak of 17 consecutive victories. Their only loss since early February was a narrow 82-81 overtime defeat against Texas Tech at the Fertitta Center.
In their latest outing, the Cougars beat second-seeded Tennessee decisively, winning 69-50 and covering the spread as 3-point favorites. Guard L.J. Cryer was the standout performer, scoring 17 points, while Emanuel Sharp contributed 16.
The Cougars maintained control throughout the game, never trailing and building a lead of up to 22 points.
On the other hand, Duke is on a 15-game winning streak. Their last setback occurred against Clemson on February 8, when they lost 77-71.
In their most recent game, they dominated second-seeded Alabama with an 85-65 victory last Saturday, comfortably covering the 7-point spread.
Guard Kon Knueppel led all scorers with 21 points, while Tyrese Proctor added 17, and forward Cooper Flagg contributed 16 points along with 9 rebounds. Duke remained in control from start to finish.
Though the Blue Devils face a formidable opponent in the Cougars, who have won 17 straight games, Houston’s recent performance has shown some inconsistency with a 4-4-2 ATS record in their last 8 games.
Meanwhile, Duke has exhibited strong form, highlighted by Flagg and Knueppel’s contributions and 7-foot-2 center Khaman Maluach’s presence in the paint. Duke’s ATS record stands at 7-3 over their last 10 games and 25-13 for the entire season.
Best Bet: Duke -4.5 Points at -110 odds
