The Chicago Cubs (2-4) are set to take on the Athletics (2-2) in a three-game series at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, with the first pitch at 10:05 p.m. ET.
This is the A’s home opener at their temporary venue, which has been renovated to resemble a Major League experience, albeit still a minor league park.
The Athletics split a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners, winning 7-0 and 4-2 after losing the opener, but fell 2-1 on Sunday. First baseman Tyler Soderstrom hit his third home run of the season, and the Under went 3-0-1 in those games.
After losing two games to the Dodgers in Tokyo, the Cubs managed to split a four-game set against the Diamondbacks, winning 10-6 and 4-3 but losing 8-1 and 10-6 in the last two games.
Designated hitter Seiya Suzuki hit a two-run homer, while right fielder Kyle Tucker contributed a three-run shot.
Chicago has allowed six or more runs in four of their last five outings, while the A’s have kept their opponents to only four runs in their last three games.
Given the conditions of the Triple-A park, we lean toward the Over based on the A’s recent performance. The Cubs and Athletics are in for some offensive fireworks tonight.
