This Friday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Boston Celtics in a showdown between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Cavaliers enter the game on a high note, having just defeated Orlando 122-82 on Tuesday, while the Celtics are looking to bounce back after a 117-97 loss to Detroit on Wednesday.

Cleveland has the best record in the East and Central Divisions, 48-10, and is riding an impressive eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, at 42-17, Boston is second in the Eastern Conference and first in the Atlantic Division. They have won eight of their last ten games.

This season, the Celtics have won two out of their three encounters, including a close 112-105 victory at Cleveland on February 4.

Cleveland

The Cavaliers are on a roll. They enter this matchup tied with the Pistons for the longest active winning streak in the NBA, at eight games.

The Pistons achieved their eighth consecutive victory by soundly defeating the Celtics at home, scoring 117-97. Adding to the intrigue, the Boston Celtics were the last team to beat the Cavaliers.

Cleveland has been on fire lately, winning 12 of their last 13 games, starting with a solid 110-91 win over the Pistons.

While it’s still up for debate who the top team in the league is, the Cavaliers (48-10) currently hold the best record, just ahead of the Thunder (47-11).

However, Oklahoma City boasts the highest net rating at +12.6, with Cleveland close behind at +11.3.

There’s no doubt that the Cavaliers are among the elite teams. They kicked off the season with a remarkable 15-game winning streak before the Celtics handed them their first loss.

Boston

Playing as a small forward, Jayson Tatum has been a standout performer this season. He’s recorded 26 double-doubles and two triple-doubles so far.

Most recently, he scored 27 points in a loss to Detroit on Wednesday and contributed with a double-double of 19 points and 11 assists during a 111-101 victory against Toronto on Tuesday.

Across 56 games, all of which he started, he is averaging 26.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals while playing 36.4 minutes per game.

With shooting guard Jaylen Brown listed as questionable due to a thigh injury, Boston might look to point guard Derrick White for additional scoring.

White’s last outing saw him put up 18 points, along with three rebounds and three assists, in the loss against Detroit.

Throughout the season, he has amassed 16 double-doubles and one triple-double, including a noteworthy performance of 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 124-104 victory over Philadelphia on February 20.

In his 56 starts, he averages 16.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 33.6 minutes per game.

Cavaliers-Celtics Best Bet

This marks the fourth and final matchup of the season between the two teams. Boston holds a 2-1 record straight up, while Cleveland is 2-1 against the spread.

Their last encounter was in early February when Boston secured a seven-point victory as +1.5 underdogs on the road.

The games between these teams have been closely contested, with Boston’s win being the widest margin; the other two matchups were decided by four points or fewer.

The Cavaliers are entering this game on a hot streak, while the Celtics are recovering from an unexpected loss to Detroit.

During this current stretch, the Cavaliers have shown exceptional balance and skill, leaving most opponents outmatched.

Meanwhile, Boston’s performance in their last game indicates that they are still seeking a uniform approach at this point in the season, and facing the Cavaliers now could prove challenging.

Take the Cavs on the money line in this one.

Best Bet: Cavaliers money line at +105 odds.
