The Cleveland Cavaliers will face the New York Knicks in an important Eastern Conference showdown on Friday, and they aim to maintain their perfect record against them this season.

This matchup comes as both teams are playing back-to-back games. The Knicks, currently third in the East with a 37-18 record, have a solid 17-8 away record this season.

On the other hand, the Cavaliers, leading the conference at 45-10, have an impressive 25-4 record when playing at home.

New York will be without Josh Hart (knee) and OG Anunoby (foot), who is uncertain about the game. Cleveland has no significant injury concerns.

New York

Veteran point guard Jalen Brunson has been delivering impressive performances lately.

During a 124-118 victory against the Houston Rockets on February 3, he notched a double-double with 42 points, 10 assists, six rebounds, and two steals.

In a thrilling 149-148 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks on February 12, Brunson contributed 36 points, eight assists, and three rebounds. For the season, he is averaging 26.1 points, 7.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 35.2 minutes of play.

Also making a significant impact for New York is center Karl-Anthony Towns. He is averaging 24.7 points, 13.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and one steal in 34.9 minutes per game.

In the February 12 match against Atlanta, he exploded for 44 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds and providing three assists. On February 11, he recorded 40 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a 128-115 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Cleveland

Shooting guard Donovan Mitchell is a key player for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ offense. He leads the team in scoring with an impressive average of 23.9 points per game, along with 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 31.3 minutes of playing time.

In a recent 134-124 victory against Washington, Mitchell delivered a stellar performance with 33 points, five assists, and two steals. He also recorded 31 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and two steals in a hard-fought 112-105 loss to the Boston Celtics on February 4.

Point guard Darius Garland is another critical contributor, averaging over 20 points per game at 21.6 in just 30.2 minutes. He complements his scoring with 6.7 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game.

Garland boasts an impressive shooting percentage of 49.8% from the field, along with an exceptional 43.1% from beyond the arc and 87.5% from the free-throw line.

His standout performance in the first half of the season was a record-setting game where he tallied 40 points, nine assists, two rebounds, and two steals in a 132-126 win over the Toronto Raptors on January 9.

Knicks-Cavs Best Bet

The Knicks battled through an overtime matchup with the Bulls and managed to secure a win, while the Cavaliers took care of the Nets without any issues.

In this upcoming game, the Knicks are facing an 8.5-point deficit. Although the Cavaliers are the favorites, that’s a substantial margin for two teams that typically compete fiercely against each other. I’ll take the points with the visiting underdogs.

Best Bet: Knicks +8.5 Points at -110 odds.
