Raiders listed as favorite trade destination for Super Bowl-winning quarterback

The Las Vegas Raiders are spoiled for choice when it comes to quarterbacks.

Free agency offers choices for the Raiders such as Sam Darnold and Justin Fields. They could see good fortune in the draft and have one of Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders fall to them with the sixth overall pick, or go after one of the options in the later rounds. Even veteran quarterbacks currently on teams such as the New York Jets’ Aaron Rodgers or the Atlanta Falcons’ Kirk Cousins are up for grabs.

However, another option has unexpectedly landed on the table for the Raiders.

The Raiders are the favorite to acquire Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford if the team chooses to trade him.

According to BetUS, the Raiders have the second-highest odds to be who Stafford plays for in 2025 at +300, with the Rams being the only team above them at -200 odds.

Should the Rams decide to move on from Stafford, it would line up with some of their other decisions so far. The team already plans to move on from wide receiver Cooper Kupp this offseason, and the youth movement in the organization is continuing to push through. While the Rams currently lack a backup plan behind Stafford, moving on from him gives the Rams some resources in order to do so.

The Raiders are expected to have serious interest in Stafford if he becomes available, but price does have to be considered in any deal.

It is expected that trading Stafford would net the Raiders at least a first-round pick. The sixth overall pick the Raiders hold for this year is far too high of an asking price on an aging quarterback on what is likely his final contract, but their 2026 first-round selection is possibly on the table. That said, moving that pick in exchange for Stafford is a clear indication that the team intends to launch a quick turnaround, rather than committing to a long-term rebuild.

Stafford is a new possibility for the Raiders at quarterback, but it remains to be seen if the rumors have legs.
