Runnin’ Rebels hit a brick wall in loss

The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels suffered an 84-62 loss at the hands of the Colorado State Rams.

Although, they suffered a loss, the Runnin’ Rebels still lead the all-time series against the Rams 45-22.

Another Loss

The Runnin’ Rebels (9-7, 3-2 MW) suffered their second road loss this season.

Dedan Thomas, Jr. and Jaden Henley both scored 19 points each, but it was not enough to keep the Runnin’ Rebels afloat.

The Rams took a 46-35 lead at half time.

The Runnin’ Rebels closed the gap to six, 58-52 with 10 minutes left in the game. With 5:38 left in the game, the Rams (10-6, 4-1) expanded the lead by 19.

The Upper Hand

Colorado State maintained the upper hand for most of the game, shooting 65.4 percent from the floor in the first half and 56.6 percent for the game. They also shot 50 percent from the3-point line.

The Rams had five players score in double digits.

Nique Clifford led the Rams in scoring with 22 points.

What’s Next for the Runnin’ Rebels?

The Runnin’ Rebels will return home to take on No. 25 Utah State on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
