The UNLV Lady Rebels are ready for another big Mountain West showdown against the New Mexico Lobos.
Both teams are 4-0 in conference play. The Lady Rebels 12-4, 4-0) and the Lobos (11-6, 4-0) are the last two undefeated teams in the Mountain West.
In their win against Colorado State, Aaliyah Alexander led the Lady Rebels, scoring 21 points and shooting 7-for-13 from the floor. Four Lady Rebels grabbed five rebounds each, including Alexander, McKinna Brackens, Alyssa Brown, and Meadow Roland.
UNLV turned up the heat with its smothering defense, forcing 18 Rams turnovers and scored 21 points off them.
The Lobos come into this game after a 73-67 win against Wyoming.
Viane Cumber leads the Lobos, averaging 16.0 points per game. Destinee Hooks leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game. Hulda Joaquim leads the Lobos in rebounding, averaging 7.4 per game.
The Lady Rebels whole the all-time series lead over the Lobos 42-28. Under coach Lindy LaRocque, the Lady Rebels are 5-3 against the Lobos.
The Lady Rebels will face the Lobos at The Pit on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
After this battle against the Lobos, the Lady Rebels will be back at home at the Cox Pavillion to host Air Force on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
