The Las Vegas Raiders have revealed their coaching plans for 2025.

In a press conference on Monday, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce confirmed that he would be staying with the Raiders as head coach for next season.

“I haven’t been told anything different,” said Pierce regarding questions surrounding his job status. “Everything I heard is from the outside of the building. Ain’t nothing to clear up from inside the building.”

Pierce served as interim head coach midway through the 2023 season when the Raiders fired Josh McDaniels. He finished with a 5-4 record and became the full-time head coach during the offseason.

In his first full season at the helm, Pierce and the Raiders were plagued by injuries, inconsistency at the quarterback position and being stuck in a division where the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos were better than anticipated.

During a ten-game losing streak midway through the season, fans and analysts alike began to question Pierce’s job security. When the Raiders held the first overall pick as late as December, many considered Pierce as a one-and-done head coach.

However, the Raiders won two of their final three games, likely convincing Mark Davis and the Raiders’ front office that Pierce still had the trust of the locker room.

This comes on an eerily quiet Black Monday, where the only coach to be fired has been Doug Pederson of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coaches similar to Pierce have also kept their jobs at the moment, with the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins being amongst the teams who will retain their current head coaches for 2025.

While Pierce will stay as head coach for next season, he does so with one of the hottest seats in the NFL. With major changes likely coming to the roster, the excuse of not having much to work with will not be applicable for 2025.

Should the Raiders endure another difficult season, Pierce will not receive such grace the next time around.

Today, however, Pierce and the Raiders can begin the process of preparing for next season, with the hopes of a turnaround on the horizon.
