With the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Buffalo Bills this Sunday and barely escaping by a field goal against the Denver Broncos, star QB Patrick Mahomes and Tight End, Travis Kelce have more than winning games to worry about.
Recently, the pair of homes were robbed within hours of each other in early October. Patrick Mahomes’ home was burglarized the day before the Chiefs met the New Orleans Saints in a Monday night matchup. The Belton, Missouri police were called out the Mahomes’ home to evaluate the situation. The police department declared it as a “breaking and entering/burglary”. “It’s frustrating,” Mahomes said during the Kansas City Chiefs press conference Wednesday, just one day after news of the robberies broke. Mahomes continued by saying, “It’s disappointing. I can’t get into too many details because the investigation is still ongoing. It’s obviously something you don’t want to happen to anybody, but especially yourself.”

Travis Kelce’s home in Leawood, Kansas was also burglarized. TMZ was the first to break the news shortly after the incident. It is reported that $20,000 in cash was stolen and his back door was broken, as cited in a police document. Taylor Swift was not at home at the time of the incident. It is reported by multiple news outlets that the couple were visiting New York City during the Chiefs bye week.
TMZ is also reporting that according to their sources, the FBI may also be involved in the investigation, and they may be pointing the finger at organized crime because of the nature of both crimes.
In a detailed Leawood police report, the burglary occurred at about 1:36 a.m. On October 8th. Based on what occurred during the burglary, the authorities are gathering more information, there could be felony charges for the suspects involved.
