The Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees will face off in the first game of the American League Championship Series.
Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians’ pitching against the Tigers in the ALDS was tremendous. They allowed only 13 runs in five games, which is consistent with their regular-season performance.
With the best bullpen in the MLB, led by Emmanuel Clase, the Guardians have a solid foundation. While Clase gave up a home run in game two, it’s unlikely to be a regular occurrence. They should win if the Guardians can hand the ball to their bullpen with a lead.

Alex Cobb will start for the Guardians in game one. He pitched three innings against the Tigers in the ALDS and was pulled after 41 pitches, which is understandable as he was returning from an injury.
However, Cobb must pitch more than three innings in this game. With a strong bullpen behind him, if Cobb can pitch four or five solid innings, the bullpen can take care of the rest.
New York Yankees
The Yankees performed well against the Royals in the ALDS, especially with their strong pitching and bullpen. The upcoming series should also be dominated by pitching.
During the ALDS, the Yankees only allowed ten runs in four games, with their bullpen giving up just three of those runs.
With reliable players like Luke Weaver as the closer, Clay Holmes as the setup man, and a solid mid-relief, the Yankees are in a good position to secure victories when leading late in the game.

Carlos Rodon will start game one for the Yankees, and although he struggled in his first postseason start, he has the potential to excel.
Rodon needs to focus on pacing himself and staying sharp throughout the game to effectively shut down the Guardians lineup and lead the Yankees to victory.
Guardians-Yankees Best Bet
This series should be very competitive. The Yankees should win this series, but Aaron Judge has not performed in the playoffs like he did in the regular season. This should be an advantage for the Guardians.
This Guardians team plays small-ball, Steven Kwan consistently gets on base and they have tremendous pitching. Even though the Yankees have home field advantage in this series, don’t be surprised if the Guardians steal a game or two in New York.
I’m predicting just that, the Guardians winning game one on the road is a bet I absolutely love. Oddsmakers have favored the Yankees, they’re -165 on the moneyline, while the Guardians are at +140.
This doesn’t align with my projections, the Guardians on the moneyline is the best bet in this one at +140 odds.
