UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is focused on his opponent Khalil Rountree for UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pereira has reassured that he’s not looking past him. Rountree is on a fight fight win streak. But this will be his first fight in 2024.
Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. with an incredibly intense final face off! ????????#UFC307

“He’s an aggressive fighter, and I prefer facing someone aggressive rather than a more timid opponent. For me, that’s beneficial. I’ve analyzed some of his techniques. That’s basically it.”
Rountree lack of activity throws some questions about how sharp he’s going to be, especially against some the caliber of Pereira. Activity or not, he’s a massive underdog against a fighter who seems to be indestructible. Activity isn’t a problem for Pereira as he’s going for his 3rd win this year. Rountree is seen as an afterthought in this bought because fans are already talking about who’s next in life for Pereira.
Land first
Without a doubt an upset by Rountree would shake up the MMA world. He has the power to hurt anyone in the light heavyweight division and is considered one of the most dangerous fighter in the division. His aggressiveness is going to either help him or hurt him against the champion. He has the ability to catch Pereira with some hard shots but he has to land those shots first. Neither fighter is going to be able to withstand too much punishment anyways. Whoever can land their power punches will be the one that will get their arm raised and will be walking out of the ring as champion.
