The 3-1 Washington Huskies are heading to Piscataway, New Jersey, to face the 3-0 Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday night. This game marks a Big Ten matchup, and Washington aims to maintain its undefeated status in its first year in the new conference.

Washington

Washington faces a tough challenge as they travel cross-country for a Big Ten road game against Rutgers on Friday. This will be quite a change for the Huskies, as their first four games were all played in Seattle at either Husky Stadium or Lumen Field.

The last time the Huskies played away from home, at a neutral site, they lost 24-19 to Washington State at Lumen Field. The under was successful in that game, and the total points have been low in all of the Huskies four games this season.

Their offense has only scored an average of 21.5 points per game in two matchups against Power 4 teams. However, they were able to limit Northwestern’s offense in a 24-5 victory last week.

Rutgers

Rutgers is off to a strong 3-0 start after securing a significant road victory against Virginia Tech last weekend. The team’s performance indicates positive progress for the program, and a win against Washington this weekend would be a major achievement.

In all three wins this season, the Scarlet Knights has demonstrated superiority, with the closest adjusted margin being eight points against Virginia Tech. The team currently holds impressive rankings, placing fourth in Offensive Success Rate, 20th in Finishing Drives, and 13th in Havoc Allowed.

On the other hand, the Scarlet Knights have shown strength in rushing, with Kyle Monangai and Samuel Brown V putting up impressive numbers so far.

While the Huskies defense allows just 106.3 rushing yards and 10.3 points per game, the Scarlet Knights may still try to establish a running game at home. Points may be hard to come by in this matchup.

The success can be attributed to their strong running game, which ranks 15th in Success Rate and 38th in PPA. Although they run the ball 66% of the time (eighth in the nation), their rushing explosiveness ranks just 116th.

Huskies-Scarlet Knights Best Bet

The Scarlet Knights, with its compelling storyline, are set to host a game on Friday night. The home atmosphere, which is expected to be electric, could potentially be a game-changer.

However, I believe that the Huskies, despite being on the road, is the stronger team and would likely win this game.

I have more confidence in Will Rogers and the Huskies passing game than Kaliakmanis. The potential of the Huskies passing game is a key strength that could make a significant difference in this scenario.

Therefore, I prefer to go with the Huskies in this matchup due to having the better quarterback. Take the Huskies on the moneyline.

Will the Hurricanes cover the spread against the Hokies at home?
