  • What: MLB Regular Season Game

  • Who:  Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros
  • Time:  8:10 p.m. ET
  • Where: Minute Maid Park (Houston, TX)

On Tuesday, the Houston Astros and Jose Altuve will take on the Oakland Athletics and JJ Bleday at Minute Maid Park.

Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics are currently fourth in the American League West, trailing their opponents in this series by 15.5 games.

They’ve maintained a record of 7-8 in their last 15 games, showing some improvement from last year. An improvement from last season when they were the worst team in the MLB.

However, after suffering back-to-back losses to Detroit, they are coming into this series being outscored 11-2. Their offense also struggled, with only two extra-base hits in those games.

As they face Houston, against whom they are 3-7 this year and have yet to win on the road, the odds are against them.

Osvaldo Bido, who has a winning record, will start the game, hoping to build on his strong road performances.

Known for his high-velocity movement and ability to get batters to chase his pitches, he will need strong offensive support from his team to secure a win against one of the MLB’s most productive lineups.

Houston Astros

The Houston Astros are currently in first place in the American League West with a 4.5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners.

They have been performing well, winning 6 out of their last 10 games, and are looking to secure a playoff spot in September.

The team has had success against the Oakland Athletics, outscoring them 44-25 in the 10 games they have played this season.

However, the Athletics won 2 out of 3 games in their last series, so the Astros are motivated to bounce back and finish the season series on a strong note.

The Astros will send Spencer Arrighetti to the mound, hoping for a better performance than his last outing, in which he struggled and only managed two outs while allowing three runs.

Despite his inconsistency, Arrighetti has shown the ability to deliver outstanding performances and remains a key asset for the team.

A’s-Astros Best Bet

The upcoming game will mark the final encounter between these two teams this season. In the previous series, the Athletics emerged victorious, winning two out of three games.

However, the Astros have been dominant on paper and have a 7-3 record against Oakland this season.

Additionally, the Athletics have not won at Minute Maid Park this season, which adds to their motivation to win at least one game in this matchup.

Considering these factors, the Houston Astros are favored to win this game. Spencer Arrighetti’s pitching prowess is expected to carry the team to a decisive victory, mainly if he can effectively deploy his strikeout pitches and keep the Athletics off balance.

I am taking the Astros on the moneyline in this one, it just doesn’t seem like this is a good spot for the A’s.

Will the A’s clutch hitting deliver another victory against the Tigers?
