In the opening Monday Night Football game of the 2024 NFL season, the San Francisco 49ers will play against the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

New York Jets

The Jets come into this game as slight underdogs, which makes sense, considering they are on the road and are still a relatively unproven team.

The team boasts an elite running back in Breece Hall, who has the potential to emerge as one of the top three backs in the league this season.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the on-field connection between Rodgers and Garrett Wilson. This duo has the potential to be a perfect match, and, unfortunately, we didn’t get to witness their chemistry last season.

On the other side of the ball, the Jets boast a formidable defense, led by Quinnen Williams on the defensive front and Sauce Gardner in the secondary. With these defensive stalwarts, the Jets can limit opponents’ scoring opportunities.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers had a tumultuous offseason. The scariest moment came when Ricky Pearsall faced a major scare, but fortunately, he has recovered and is expected to play this season.

Additionally, the team had to navigate through holdouts from Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams, one of the top left tackles in the league.

It was just announced the Niners will be without star running back Christian McCaffrey for this game.

The Jets’ defense poses a challenge for the Niners’ running game, but I believe the Niners will come prepared to counter it. Kyle Shanahan is too good of a play caller to not figure out another way to gain yards on the ground.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Deebo Samuel gets more opportunities at the RB position tonight.

This will be the first time the SF defense faces Rodgers in a Jets uniform, and if they can put up a fight, they should be able to cover the spread with their high-scoring offense.

Jets-Niners Best Bet

The Jets will be a competitive team this year, contending for the AFC East title. However, I think the 49ers will take care of business against them tonight.

I am picking the 49ers to cover the 3.5 point-spread in their season opener against the Jets.
