Will the Chiefs keep the Bears from an undefeated preseason?

  • What: NFL Preseason Game
  • When: Thursday, August 22
  • Who: Chicago Bears vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Where: Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, MO)

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Chicago Bears in their last preseason game on Thursday before the 2024-25 regular season starts.

The Chicago Bears have had a strong preseason, standing at 3-0. With the Hard Knocks cameras capturing their every move, the team has performed exceptionally well, scoring 21+ points in each game and totaling 81 points overall.

Caleb Williams is showing potential as a future superstar, and the defense has been solid in keeping opponents out of the end zone.

Following their 27-3 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bears will face the reigning Super Bowl Champions at Arrowhead Stadium.

On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs have yet to secure a win in the preseason, but there’s little cause for concern. Despite falling to the Detroit Lions 24-23 in their last game, Coach Andy Reid has decided to rest his starters against the Bears.

The backups will face a motivated Bears team, and although it’s preseason, it promises to be an exciting start to the game.

Chicago Bears

It has been announced that Caleb Williams will not be playing in the upcoming game against the Chiefs, as most of the starters will be resting.

This decision means Brett Rypien, who has been performing well, will likely get significant playing time.

Rypien has been impressive in the preseason, making a strong case for the backup role. Another standout player is Dante Pettis, who has been making a solid case for a spot on the team with his performance in both offense and special teams.

With the defense maintaining its dominance, the team is expected to perform well and secure a significant victory.

Kansas City Chiefs

Reid does not plan to play his starters. This means that Reid is content with what he has seen so far in these preseason games and does not want to risk an injury.

Some players, like rookie Xavier Worthy (if he plays) and some of the other receivers could benefit from a good performance.

Hollywood Brown is banged up, and the Chiefs could use an extra wideout for the season opener if he isn’t healthy.

Skyy Moore, Justin Watson, and Mecole Hardman all need to play well to keep their spots on the roster.

Carson Wentz should get a majority of the reps. Even if the Chiefs don’t keep him for the regular season, this could be a good showcase for him and other teams.

QB Chris Oladokun is also playing very well this preseason. He has 184 yards and a touchdown while completing 13 of 17 passes. The former South Dakota State QB aims to be on an active roster for the first time in his career.

Bears-Chiefs Best Bet

The Chicago Bears are looking like a solid preseason team, and tonight is our last chance to bet on them. It’s disappointing that we won’t witness Williams competing against Mahomes.

Although this game may not be as intense as we hoped, there’s still potential for some exciting moments as players vie for spots on the roster.

I believe the Bears will outperform the spread and finish the preseason 4-0, setting the stage for a promising season with a rookie quarterback at the helm.

I’ll take the Bears to cover the 2.5-point spread.
