There’s a lot of anticipation that White could have a repeat of his record breaking season from last year. Here’s a list of honors that Ricky White III has racked up during the off season.
- Preseason first-team All-American by College Football Network
- Second team by Sporting News
- Second team by Athlon Sports
- Phil Steele and Walter Camp.
- Preseason watch lists Biletnikoff Award,
- Maxwell Player of the Year
- Walter Camp Player of the Year.
White last season became the first UNLV player to have more than 100 receiving yards in five straight games. He finished with 88 receptions for a school-best 1,483 yards, making him the nation’s top returning receiver by yards gained.
White is the second UNLV wide receiver to be honored by the Associated Press in the preseason. The only other player was Jim Sandusky in 1981. Without a doubt there’s major anticipation too see if White will live up to the pre season hype.
