This Saturday, Team USA will play France in the gold-medal game of men’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The American team has maintained an unbeaten record but faced a tough 95-91 victory over Serbia on Thursday after a come-from-behind effort.
They are now aiming for their fifth consecutive gold medal.
France
As the French team prepares for their upcoming match, the crowd is gearing up to support their home team’s quest for gold.
In their recent game, France put up an impressive performance, forcing Germany into 15 turnovers and capitalizing with 20 points off of them.

Center Victor Wembanyama, a newcomer to the Olympic stage, has been making a significant impact for the French team with his stellar defensive skills and versatile offensive abilities.
Wembanyama has been averaging 13.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and two blocks per game in the 2024 Paris Olympics, demonstrating his prowess on both ends of the court.
Additionally, guard Isaia Cordinier adds another dimension to the team with his athleticism and ability to make plays. He contributes an average of 10.6 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting an impressive 50% from beyond the arc.
Team USA
LeBron James is aiming for his third gold medal. He continues to perform at a high level for Team USA, excelling as a scorer, facilitator, and defender.
Leading the squad with 14.2 points, 8.2 assists, and 7 rebounds per game, the four-time NBA champion delivered a triple-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in the comeback victory against Serbia.

Kevin Durant, another veteran player, brings valuable skills to the team. His top-tier offensive abilities and height present a tough challenge for defenders.
With an average of 13.6 points and 3 rebounds, shooting 57% from the field and 61% from beyond the arc, the three-time gold medalist contributed 11 points, 4 boards, and 3 assists in the quarterfinal win over Brazil.
France-Team USA Best Bet
This game features two teams in vastly different weight classes.
Although France has secured notable wins against Germany and Canada on its way to the gold, it lacks the overall athleticism and talent to compete with Team USA.
While Wembenyama may very well become the best player in the world in the future, that time has not yet arrived.
Team USA possesses an abundance of talent, and following their narrow victory against Serbia, they will come out focused and determined to secure the gold medal.
I’m backing Team USA to cover the spread in this one.
