Bronny James #1?

© David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

With the first pick of the 2024 NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select…Bronny James from USC. Now that would be the storyline of the year. As crazy of a thought that may be it could happen. According to MGM sportsbooks Bronny James is currently the most bet player to be taken No. 1 in the 2024 NBA draft. Sports betting reporter Ben Fawkes reported 22.5 percent of all bets have been placed on the USC guard at 200-1: These are some insane bets for someone that’s ranked as the #39th best draft prospect according to ESPN.

James college experience got off to a rough start when he went into cardiac arrest during a USC practice last summer.  Bronny underwent surgery for a congenital heart defect and eventually rejoined the team. James struggled during his only season at USC. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 36.6 percent from the floor. At the conclusion of his freshmen season, he would go on to enter the transfer portal. Once Bronny was invited to the NBA Prep Draft camp he had enough of a solid showing to decide to stay in the NBA Draft.

Bronny to the Suns?

There’s reports out stating that Bronny has only scheduled workouts and one the teams are the Los Angeles Lakers which isn’t a surprise as they’re the favorites to land him at +160. The second time is a bit of a surprise and that’s the Phoenix Suns with odds at +750 according to FanDuel. The Suns could throw a huge wrench in Bronny joining his dad to play with the Lakers. That move could force LeBron to think about making the move to the Valley of the sun. If he wants to fulfill his dream of playing with his son instead of him re-signing with the Lakers. Phoenix has the potential to disrupt this draft which is must see TV in itself.
