The UNLV Lady Rebels lost their opening NCAA Tournament game to the Creighton Bluejays 87-73. The Blue Jays hit 15 three-pointers, which led them past the Rebels.

Desi-Rae Young scored 30 points for UNLV and became the second 2,000-point score in UNLV womens history.

UNLV trailed after the first quarter 23-16 and trailed at halftime 44-32. They played a pretty even in the second half, but the damage had already been done in the first half

Creighton got a team-high 25 points from Lauren Jensen, 23 from Emma Ronsiek, and 16 points from Morgan Maly.

Kiara Jackson scored 16 for the Lady Rebels, who shot 50.8% from the field. However, the difference in the game was the three-point shooting. Creighton hit ten more threes than UNLV.

The Lady Rebels have dropped six straight games in the NCAA Tournament and have yet to win since 1991 when they beat Texas Tech in the first round. Hopefully, next year, they can get over that hump.
