Adam Silver says Las Vegas a Possibility for an NBA Team

On Wednesday, on the Pat McAfee show, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said that Las Vegas is on the list of cities under consideration for an expansion basketball franchise.

“We want to figure out what our media relationships are going to look like. But then we will turn to expansion,” Silver said again Wednesday in the interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN. One of the league’s media partners.

Las Vegas already hosts summer league basketball. Other pro sports are thriving in Las Vegas; basketball could be a big hit for Sin City. On many occasions, NBA star LeBron James said he would like to own a team in Sin City.

According to ESPN, Seattle has often been mentioned as an expansion candidate. Silver told NBA.com for a story published earlier this week that Mexico City is “on our radar.” The league bringing a team there is “probably not going to happen in the next wave of expansion.”

Nashville, Vancouver, and Montreal are among the places that have also been mentioned in recent years as cities that would be interested in an expansion franchise.
