LAS VEGAS — The Vegas Golden Knights didn’t just win Game 1. They ignited the city. A late third-period surge capped by Ivan Barbashev’s go-ahead goal lifted Vegas to a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks  and fans inside T-Mobile Arena and across social media had plenty to say.

Golden Knights fans were quick to point out the team’s resilience after giving up a late tying goal. “That’s championship DNA right there. Give up a goal, take it right back. No panic.”

Vegas responded just 65 seconds after Anaheim tied it a sequence that had fans buzzing about the team’s poise.

Barbashev the Hero

The game-winner turned Barbashev into the instant star of the night. “Barbashev clutch AGAIN. Dude just shows up when it matters.”

“That pass from Dorofeyev though… filthy.” Pavel Dorofeyev also drew heavy praise for creating the play, slicing through defenders to set up the goal.
