LAS VEGAS — The main event is official. Aljamain Sterling and Youssef Zalal successfully made weight Friday, clearing the final hurdle ahead of their featherweight showdown at UFC Fight Night 274. The event takes place Saturday at the UFC APEX and streams live on Paramount+.

Main Event Locked In

Former bantamweight champion Sterling (25-5 MMA, 17-5 UFC) and surging contender Zalal (18-5-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) both hit their marks at the official weigh-ins, making their highly anticipated headliner official.

With no last-minute complications, the fight now moves forward as scheduled—setting the stage for a pivotal clash in the featherweight division.

Stakes on the Line

For Sterling, the bout represents a chance to solidify his case for a title shot at 145 pounds after moving up from bantamweight. For Zalal, it’s an opportunity to extend his momentum and break into the division’s elite tier with a signature win over a former champion.

With the main event cleared and the card intact, UFC Fight Night 274 is set to deliver from Las Vegas. Now, it’s time to fight. Sterling is trying to position himself for a shot at Alexander Volkanovski and the featherweight belt. A convincing win over Youssef Zalal could:

  • Put him next in line for a title shot
  • Make him one of the few fighters chasing championships in two weight classes

He’s already said it himself this is about earning, not asking.

Legacy on the Line

Sterling is a former bantamweight champion. Moving up and winning another belt would:

  • Elevate him into double-champ territory
  • Cement his place among the elite names in UFC history

But a loss? That changes everything.
