WINNIPEG, Manitoba — If chaos had a time limit, it might look exactly like Jai Herbert vs. Mandel Nallo. In a 125-second firefight at Canada Life Centre, Herbert (14-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) weathered early danger before storming back to score a first-round TKO victory over Nallo (14-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 273.

The lightweight bout wasted no time delivering fireworks. Within the opening minute, both fighters hit the canvas in a furious exchange that set the tone for what quickly became one of the most action-packed fights of the night.

Nallo, making his UFC debut at 36, came out aggressive and determined to make a statement. Early on, that pressure paid off as Herbert struggled to find his footing amid the onslaught.

But Herbert didn’t fold. Digging deep, the 37-year-old veteran steadied himself, planted his feet, and fired back. A sharp counter dropped Nallo, shifting the momentum instantly. Though Nallo managed to survive the initial follow-up with referee Jason Herzog watching closely the damage had already begun to stack up. After getting back to his feet, Nallo found himself right back in danger.

Moments later, Herbert found the target again. Another clean shot sent Nallo crashing to the canvas, and this time Herbert didn’t hesitate unleashing a barrage of left hands that forced Herzog to step in and wave it off at 2:05 of Round 1.

The win marks a strong rebound for Herbert, who entered the bout looking to shake off a split decision loss to Chris Padilla in March 2025. For Nallo, the defeat snaps a five-fight winning streak and serves as a harsh introduction to UFC competition.

A Fight Fans Won’t Forget

In just over two minutes, Herbert and Nallo delivered a back-and-forth war packed with knockdowns, urgency, and a decisive finish. For fans craving pure violence, this one checked every box.
