The Lady Rebels faced Fresno State on Feb. 28 in the teams’ second meeting of the season, and UNLV made it another comfortable win. The Rebels controlled the game from start to finish and rolled to a 68-54 victory.
The Lady Rebels Are Unstoppable
Guard Aaliyah Alexander and Meadow Roland set the tone in the blowout win. Alexander finished with 21 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals, while Roland added 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Roland also made her presence felt defensively with 3 steals and 3 blocks, shutting down whoever Fresno State tried to put in front of her.
Continuing the strong night on the glass, forward Shelbee Brown also grabbed 12 rebounds and finished one point shy of a double-double. She posted 9 points, 12 rebounds and 1 assist, plus 1 steal. Brown also hit a milestone, reaching 1,000 career points, and she got there at the free-throw line.
UNLV finished with 10 steals and 4 blocks, a clear sign of how active and physical the Lady Rebels were defensively. The win improved UNLV to 19-10 overall. In the Mountain West, the Lady Rebels are tied for second with Colorado State and Boise State, with all three teams at 14-5.
Next up is a key matchup March 4 at Boise State. The teams last met March 10, 2025, in the Mountain West tournament, when UNLV won 80-70. The Lady Rebels will try to bring that same edge again.
