British welterweight contender Conor Benn is officially entering a new chapter. After nearly a decade aligned with Matchroom Boxing and promoter Eddie Hearn, Benn announced on social media that he has signed with Zuffa Boxing the emerging promotional arm backed by Dana White.

“First and foremost, I want to thank Eddie Hearn and the entire team at Matchroom for everything they’ve done for me over the past decade,” Benn wrote. “From guiding me when I first turned pro, to headlining stadium shows, they were not only with me for those highlight moments but stood shoulder to shoulder with me during the tough times.”

Benn added that Zuffa Boxing presented an opportunity he “simply couldn’t refuse,” though he expressed hope that Hearn could remain part of his team as the partnership evolves.

From Family Legacy to Prime Years

Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) is a second-generation star and one of the most recognizable names in British boxing. The 29-year-old is coming off a unanimous decision victory in his November rematch with Chris Eubank Jr..

Their first clash in April a dramatic, back-and-forth war was named The Ring’s 2025 Fight of the Year. Both bouts were contested at 160 pounds, but Benn has made it clear he plans to return to his natural welterweight division (147 pounds).

“I’m filled with excitement and hunger for what’s ahead with Zuffa Boxing,” Benn said. “I want the legacy fights, the biggest nights, the biggest stages. I fear no man at any weight.”

Targeting the Welterweight Champions

Benn has been positioning himself as a serious title threat at 147, leveraging his status as the WBC’s No. 1 contender to pursue a shot at the winner of the upcoming bout between WBC champion Mario Barrios and Ryan Garcia.

He has also publicly called out:

  • Devin Haney (WBO)

  • Rolando Romero (WBA)

  • Lewis Crocker (IBF)

  • Shakur Stevenson

Zuffa Boxing clearly views Benn as a centerpiece acquisition.

“Conor Benn is an absolute beast and a superstar,” White said in a statement. “He’s ready for a world title next, and I can’t wait to see him compete in Zuffa Boxing.”

Zuffa’s UK Expansion

Benn’s signing marks another major move for Zuffa Boxing as it builds its footprint in the United Kingdom and globally.

Last month, Jai Opetaia The Ring and IBF cruiserweight champion also signed with the promotion and is set to headline a March 8 card in Las Vegas against Brandon Glanton.

With Benn now in the fold, Zuffa Boxing adds a proven ticket seller in the UK market and a legitimate welterweight contender entering his physical prime.

What Comes Next?

At 29, Benn is stepping into what he calls the most ambitious stretch of his career. The move signals a push toward legacy fights and major stages — potentially across both sides of the Atlantic.

For Benn, this isn’t just a promotional switch. It’s a declaration: The next chapter is about world titles and he wants them now. Dice City Sports will continue to monitor developments surrounding Benn’s debut under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
