Another one for the shelf

Meadow Roland picked up another trophy on Monday after the Mountain West named her Old Trapper Player of the Week. It marked her third honor of the season. The league also noted UNLV has now won three straight Player of the Week awards and five weekly accolades this season.

Roland is the reigning 2025 Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Stacking good days

Roland pushed UNLV to a 2-0 week with wins over Utah State and Wyoming. She averaged 18.0 points and 13.0 rebounds. She posted double-doubles in both games, scoring 18 with 14 rebounds against the Aggies, then 18 with 12 rebounds against the Cowgirls.

“Taking it day by day. Learning every day and stacking good days on top of good days,” Roland told UNLV Radio’s Wyatt Tomchek on Rebel Talk. “We don’t have time for setbacks.”

Impact everywhere

Through 16 games, Roland leads UNLV at 14.1 points per game. She also leads the Lady Rebels in field goals made with 88 and blocked shots with 29. She ranks second in rebounding at 9.1 per game.

Roland also sits in the top five in assists, steals and minutes. “By being a leader and leading by example,” Roland told Tomchek. “I try to help with little things, like footwork or positioning. Small details matter.”
