Tonight, the Indiana Fever (6-7) will face off against the Seattle Storm (9-5) in WNBA action, with the game set to tip off at 7:00 p.m. PST at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.
The Fever are eager to break their two-game losing streak as they travel to take on the Storm, who are riding high after a victory against the Liberty and are on a three-game winning streak.
Nneka Ogwumike, who scored 26 points, and Skylar Diggins, with 20 points, were instrumental in the win over New York, playing crucial roles for the Storm throughout the season.
For the Fever, Caitlin Clark is leading the charge, and she will need to deliver a standout performance tonight, especially with Dewanna Bonner out, if Indiana hopes to return to winning ways.
Recently, the Fever have struggled in the second half, notably falling apart midway through the third quarter against the Valkyries, despite holding double-digit leads in both of those recent losses to Las Vegas.
In three of the four games since Clark’s return, the Fever have allowed their opponents to score at least 88 points.
The Fever seem to thrive when they push the pace and allow Clark to take control of the game.
However, head coach Stephanie White may be feeling the pressure, as the team hasn’t lived up to expectations. A third consecutive loss would bring their record below .500.
I anticipate a high-scoring game tonight, and Clark is certainly overdue for a breakout performance. She’s struggled recently, hitting just 1-of-16 from three-point range over her last two games.
Additionally, the Storm have consistently seen high-scoring fourth quarters, and it appears that everyone raises their game against the Fever.
