The Florida Panthers will play the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, on Saturday at 5 p.m. PST. The Series is tied at 2-2.
The Panthers held a 2-1 series lead going into Game 4 but saw the Oilers tie the series after a thrilling 5-4 overtime win.
Matthew Tkachuk scored two power-play goals early, and Anton Lundell added another for a 3-0 Panthers lead after one period. Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch pulled goaltender Stuart Skinner after the first, turning to Calvin Pickard.
The Oilers rallied in the second period with goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Darnell Nurse, leveling the game 3-3 with Vasily Podkolzin’s score.
Jake Walman put Edmonton ahead in the third, but with the extra attacker, Sam Reinhart equalized, forcing overtime. Leon Draisaitl scored the winner for the Oilers, leveling the series and regaining home-ice advantage.
The goalie matchup in this one is between Sergei Bobrovsky vs. Calvin Pickard. Bobrovsky allowed five goals in Game 4 but remains the favored starter despite recent struggles.
Pickard has yet to lose in the playoffs and has been effective in the net for the Oilers. I’m taking the Oilers at home in this one.
