- What: MLB Regular Season Game
- When: June 13, 2025
- Who: Athletics vs. Kansas City Royals
- Time: 5:10 p.m. PST
- Where: Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City, MO)
The Royals host the Athletics in the first game of their series tonight. The Athletics have lost 16 of their last 20 games but are turning to their ace, Luis Severino, for Friday’s matchup.
Kansas City has also faced challenges, dropping three straight games at home against the Yankees. Who will turn things around tonight?
The Royals are favored (-165) over the Athletics, with the over/under set at eight and a half runs. Oakland’s pitching has been poor this season, allowing 5.99 runs per game. Severino has a 4.77 ERA, failing to meet expectations, but has excelled on the road, posting a 0.87 ERA away from home.
Kansas City’s lineup has struggled, averaging just 3.35 runs per game. Only a few players, including Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt Jr., have performed well. Despite their issues, the Athletics have been scoring more recently.
The Royals will start Michael Wacha, who has a solid 3.01 ERA this season, especially at home (1.80 ERA). I’m leaning towards the under in this game.
Wacha is efficient and can manage the Athletics’ inconsistent offense, while Severino’s road performance adds promise. Tonight’s matchup should favor a low-scoring game.
Best Bet: Under 8.5 Runs at -110 odds
