Reigning MVP and Aces center A’ja Wilson left the game with 1:17 left in the third quarter with an injury she sustained to her face.

She did not return to the game.

Following a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks 97-89, Aces coach Becky Hammon told the media that Wilson will see a specialist on Thursday but there wasn’t any more updates on her status at that moment.

Hammon said “I think she got elbowed by (Dearica) Hamby when Hamby. I know she was bleeding. And I know she couldn’t come back.”

A’ja Wilson finished with 13 points and eight rebounds before exiting the game.

This season, Wilson has led the Aces, averaging 20.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. The Aces are 4-4 so far this season.

As for now, A’ja Wilson’s status is questionable. She may or may not be available for the game against the Dallas Wings on Friday, June 13.

The Aces tip-off against the Wings at 7pm PT. The game will be nationally televised on ION.

Despite Jackie Young’s Career Night, Aces fall 97-89
