In this upcoming series opener, the Phillies face off against the struggling Rockies in Colorado.

Philadelphia is on a roll, winning its last three games and closing in on the Mets in the NL East, while the Rockies hold the worst record in baseball.

The matchup features Phillies’ lefty Cristopher Sanchez (4-1, 2.91) against Rockies’ southpaw Kyle Freeland (0-6, 6.15), with the first pitch set for 5:40 PM PST.

The Phillies recently completed a sweep of the Pirates, clinching a 1-0 victory thanks to a standout performance by rookie Mick Abel.

Sanchez has been solid this season, striking out 52 batters in 43.1 innings, while the Rockies continue to face issues, having recently lost 1-0 to the Diamondbacks.

Freeland, seeking his first win, has struggled with a 6.15 ERA across nine starts, allowing 64 hits in 45.1 innings.

Earlier this season, the Phillies swept the Rockies at home, and while Senzatela pitched well in that series, the Rockies will need stronger offensive support.

The Rockies have played better of late, while the Phillies are also playing well.

Though it’s tough to predict a Rockies win given their form, expect a close contest. There is tremendous value on the run line here with the Phillies laying over two runs.

Consider taking the Rockies to cover the 2.5 run line in this one against the Phillies at -102 odds.

Best Bet: Rockies +2.5 Runs at -102 odds
