The Denver Nuggets (49-32) will play the Houston Rockets (52-29) on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular season. The matchup will begin at 12:30 p.m. PST at the Toyota Center.

The season series between the two teams is tied at 1-1. The Nuggets come into this game on a two-game winning streak after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 117-109 on Friday.

Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 assists, making history as the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire season.

Aaron Gordon also had an impressive performance, scoring a game-high 33 points, helping the Nuggets overcome a 15-point deficit.

On the other hand, the Rockets have lost their last two games, including a 140-109 defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. They failed to cover the spread as 13.5-point underdogs.

Cam Whitmore led Houston with 34 points, shooting 7-of-12 from beyond the arc. Having already secured the second seed in the Western Conference, the Rockets rested six of their top seven scorers in that game and may choose to do the same on Sunday.

However, it seems Houston is planning to play their starters against Denver. They have not utilized their main lineup since clinching the 2-seed last week, which could be detrimental given the long gap without competitive play.

This game serves as an excellent opportunity for the Rockets to prepare against a team that recently defeated them in Houston.

Additionally, the Rockets can act as spoilers against a Nuggets squad that desperately needs a win. A loss could drop Denver into the play-in scenarios, while a victory would secure them the 4th seed.

Despite Houston’s current approach of playing all their starters, the Nuggets have struggled on the road this season, with a record of just 10-15 against the spread as road favorites.

Houston is likely to take this game seriously from start to finish. Head coach Ime Udoka might push for a win simply because they can.

Best Bet: Houston Rockets + 7.5 points at -110 odds
